N. C. Wyeth (1882-1945)

N. C. Wyeth (1882-1945) was an extremely prolific American illustrator who studied under Howard Pyle. He is widely considered one of America's greatest illustrators, in league with the likes of Norman Rockwell and Maxfield Parrish. He created over 3000 paintings and illustrated 112 books, and is best known for his contributions to the Scribner Classics, which totaled 25 books.
