This is the first of a series of blog articles called Silent Survey, in which I will present a collection of graphics within a specific theme. The only difference is, these themed graphics will be observed for their own sake, and without comment. In this installment, we'll be exploring graphics that depict horses.
The purpose of the Silent Survey series is to challenge you to look at each piece and observe curiously and questioningly. I encourage you to find what makes these graphics special from a visual and cultural standpoint, and constantly be asking deeper and deeper questions.
These graphics should speak for themselves, but they have their nuances, so it's up to you to pick them out. And as always, please let me know what you come up with in the comments.
